Ever wonder what the Cape Cod Council of Churches does?

Well, in two months alone,  the Council’s Ministries…

• Provided 863 of our youngest with free diapers, wipes  and formula at A Baby Center.

• Gave out 1689 bags of groceries to 1154 of our most vulnerable at Hands of Hope Pantry.

• Served 2645 hot, nutritious dinners to our hungry at Faith Family Kitchen.

• Visited 1258 of our sick at CC Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Meanwhile, Covenant to Care continued caring for Cape Cod’s foster children.

Youth StreetReach connected area youth with our homeless neighbors, educating and breaking down barriers of age and class.

Two months of normal work at the Council, made possible by the support of our churches and community, an effort to serve them and serve our God.

Through our ministries, the Council has demonstrated its ability to identify un-met needs in our region, create a response to meet those needs, and partner with community resources to develop effective programs that reach out to our sisters and brothers. The Council celebrates relationships with congregations that provide volunteers to staff its ministries, clergy who serve on the Board of Directors, and faithful financial support to ensure the continuation of its ministries. We are also blessed with the support of local businesses, individuals, grants, and partnerships with organizations.

The Council exists as a expression of ecumenical ministry.  This allows for powerful witness as we gather in a community of caring with our Cape and Islands neighbors in need.

At our Annual Assembly, representatives of 38 different congregations gathered to support the business of the Council. The group included members from the following types of congregations: Roman Catholic, Methodist, Unitarian Universalist, Covenant, Baptist, Episcopal, Community of Jesus, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Ecumenical Catholic, United Church of Christ, Assembly of God, Presbyterian, Living Hope, and Gateway Christian Center. We included people who worship in Spanish, Portuguese and English. What a gathering!

We work hard to be Community to one another; to reach out, cross boundaries, and share mission and resources. Through our united work, "Serving God by Serving Others", we impact the lives of many thousands of our neighbors, providing practical goods and assistance. We bear witness while offering guidance, hope and comfort.

Thank you for being a part of this Community of Caring.
