Interfaith Chaplain, Hospital Chaplaincy
Rev. Edwin Larson, Chaplain at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Sandwich, has served as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) since 1974. Most of his service was in parish ministry in the Springfield, Mass., area. His interest in chaplaincy began in 1987 when Mercy Medical Hospital in Springfield added him to the staff as the only Protestant Chaplain in that Catholic organization.
Upon retirement and relocation to Harwich in 2017, he served with the Rev. Mary Hansen-Joyce at Cape Cod Hospital and at Spaulding under the guidance of the Rev. Dr. Linda Shaw. He and Janet, his wife of 50 years, have two daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandsons.
